  • Rafting Aggitis river

Description : Rafting Aggitis river is a unique experience ! It is a river in Northern Greece, 75 km long and an important tributary of the Strymonas river. Its source is in the Falakro mountains, in the regional unit of Drama, near the town of Prosotsani. 6 km of amazing route, all in a canyon with good water flow and two passages of third degree of difficulty will justify us for the choice. The rocks on the right and left are over 100 meters high. The birds accompany us along the entire length of the river. Herons, ducks, hawks, owls, otters, water turtles are the main patrons who show us the way and more! The flora between the rocks is impressive! If all this is not enough, then we will experience something different. Visit by boat or on foot (depending on the water level) to Persephone's cave! This is where history meets mythology. From this cave Persephone passed into Hades. After 400 meters we taste the water from its source in total darkness! We return and continue the descent. We're not done, we go back to base and show off our archery skills. Location : Symboli Serron, 22HM+MG Συμβολή Distance from Athens : 630 km ~ 6,5 hours driving. • Guided Hiking Tour at Laurio

Just 45 minutes from Athens, in one of Greece's most historically charged and visually striking landscapes, lies a hike that almost no visitor ever takes. We are heading into the heart of Sounion National Park, a protected area of priceless natural and archaeological heritage, to explore the ancient silver mines that literally funded the Golden Age of Athens and the construction of the Acropolis. This is not a standard day trip, it is a walk through an open-air museum, a geological wonder and a forgotten industrial world. Join our Guided Hiking Tour at Laurio and book your spot now. Highlights of the Route : -Cavity Chaos - Attica's Best Kept Secret Our adventure kicks off at one of Attica's most dramatic natural landmarks. A gigantic open chasm, 55 metres deep, formed by the collapse of an ancient cave ceiling. Standing at the edge, the scale stops you in your tracks. -Ancient Silver Mines & Ore Washing Pits We walk among the ruins of the ancient silver mining and processing facilities of Lavreotiki, the industrial engine behind Athens' greatest era. You'll see the ancient ore washing tanks and processing facilities up close. A marvel of engineering from 2,500 years ago, built by the hands of thousands of miners whose labour gave Athens the resources to shape Western civilisation. -Mine Galleries & Shaft Entrances Along the trail we encounter the dark mouths of the mine galleries carved deep into the Attic earth. We approach from a safe distance, taking in the scale of what lies beneath and imagining the lives of the men who descended here day after day. -The Miners' Homes. A 19th Century Settlement As the trail leads deeper, we enter the ruins of a 19th-century mining settlement where time stands still. Stone-built homes, silent courtyards, collapsed walls. Not a ruin in a museum, an actual abandoned community where the daily lives of miners were lived out against the hard light of Attica. Walking through it, you feel the weight of the place. -Agia Triada. One of Europe's Oldest Industrial Centres A stop at the historic settlement of Agia Triada, under the shade of pine trees, where we unpack the extraordinary story of this region as a cornerstone of ancient and modern Greek industrial history. -Flora & Fragrance of the Sounio Plateau The trail opens up into one of Attica's most beautiful natural landscapes. Imposing Aleppo pines, centuries-old olive trees, and the dense Mediterranean herbs, wild thyme, lavender and rosemary.

  • Guided Urban Hiking Tour Athens

Forget the postcard cliché of the Acropolis. To truly understand Athens, you have to look at it from the high ground. While the crowds fight their way through Plaka, we take you on a circular urban trek through three hills that shaped the ancient world, the Pnyx, the Hill of the Nymphs and the Hill of the Muses. Rocky paths, pine-scented air, ancient stone carvings and some of the most honest views of the Parthenon you will ever find. No entrance queues. No tour buses. Just Athens as it actually is, seen from where it was always meant to be seen. Highlights of the Route : - The Pnyx, birthplace of Democracy We stand on the Vema, the massive stone platform carved directly into the hillside where Pericles and Demosthenes once addressed the citizens of Athens. You can still see the sockets in the rock where the wooden assembly railings stood. It is profoundly quiet here today, which makes it all the more powerful. -Hill of the Nymphs, the Sky-Watch Home to the neoclassical National Observatory designed by Theophil Hansen, this peak is one of the most atmospheric and overlooked corners of central Athens. We bypass the main roads and walk the "Garden of the Stars" where ancient astronomers first mapped the Attic sky. -Hill of the Muses, the 360° Vantage Point The highest point of the trek. From the Roman Philopappos Monument at the summit, the Saronic Gulf, the modern city and the ancient ruins spread out in every direction. Late afternoon light on the Pentelic marble of the Parthenon from here is something you won't forget. -The Prison of Socrates & St. Demetrius Loumbardiaris Descending toward the valley, we pass the rock-cut chambers said to be the final cell of Socrates, before ending at the 16th-century church of Loumbardiaris, framed by the famous hand-laid stone pathways designed by architect Dimitris Pikionis in the 1950s, where every stone was placed to feel like a natural extension of the hill itself.
